DEV-2790 Image Processing Trainer

Image processing trainer is a unique integration of numerous tools that aid to conduct number of image processing experiments. It must be taken as tool to generate environment for learning image processing principles. It is NOT a trainer that can be pre-specified for a list of certain experiments. It must be taken a s a breadboard is considered in electronics. The trainer allows the students to integrate seamlessly three independent image sources. Very stable and regulated DC supply is available too minimize noise due to power variations in the CCD sensors.

User can select any of the channels that are routed then to PC Video Capture card. A software utility is provided that allows grabbing an image or a sequence of images or AVI file. It allows the following aspects of environment to be coarsely controlled to give student a broad feeling of necessity of such issues in practical machine
vision problems.

The trainer allows to strobe an attach pan tilt system with it. All devices including selection of camera is digitally controllable in order to integrate into any user specific application.

RIMS microbe view allows the users to view the microscopic objects through a CCD camera output.  The focal lengths have been carefully adjusted for maximum response. This allows the student to even do the analysis of moving microbes using target tracking etc.

The light source has been intentionally kept isolated to ensure that the students can control the light being reflected into the microscope. This gives a classic noise under low illumination that can be extremely useful for learning. This feature can be used in experiments such as microscopic objects tracking, cells counting, and micro-structure analysis
